When we found out that the former over 50 year surf club’s outdated, unsafe facility was to be replaced with a modern, purpose-built building and when no flooring applicators of the specified flooring system had reached out to the building contractor, Sealcrete realised there was an opportunity to put forward a better, more fit for purpose system while giving bang for your buck to a community project that had spent years fundraising.

Sealcrete put the cost-effective Mapei flake system, using the natural looking, finer, natural stone flake range forward for the floor areas of the first aid room, toilet and shower areas. A non-slip aggregate was added to the accessible toilet space in the first aid room and the main shower areas.

Coving was included around all the wall areas to provide a seamless finish and assist cleaning, to keep this facility serving the community for a long time.
